Happy Halloween!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween! This house loves Halloween as much as we love Christmas. Okay okay not AS much as Christmas cause that is HUGE here.... but Halloween definately is high up there for "I cant' Wait!!!"
Kids always get 2 or more pumpkins to carve and of course we cook the seeds with a tad bit of oil, salt and pepper, sprinkle of garlic powder.... and some of the guts...

Halloween Jump a thon for the Arnprior and district humaine Society - 2006.
Kids placed 1st and 2nd. Pictured horses are Cass and Tiffany.

Tyler always pics the biggest pumpkin.
Pictured here at almost 4 yrs of age, and Brianna at almost 2 years of age.

See..... big pumpkin... kid has not changed.
Pictured here in 2005 - Kids are almost 13 and 11

Kids were not going trick or treating that year (2008) so they convinced us to purchase 5 pumpkins EACH!

I can almost say for certain that they look forward to these seeds as much as they look forward for the Christmas Dinner.... AND.... they love bringing the seeds to school, cause everybody wants them!
Today we will carve the pumpkins... so I will post the new pic here later today!

Great pic's! Halloween is a non event here...no one comes to the door. :-(

Pumpkin seeds...yum! I've never made them from scratch. Do you have to dry them before baking?

It's been a non-event since we moved out here too.

We go and raid the surrounding neighbourhoods, and give a few bags of candy to random homes to replinish their stock. Just to say we want to be a part of the festivities and not feel guilty.

Pumpkin seeds... don't even wash them... take out most of the guts, but leave some strands... mix with a bit of EVOO, salt pepper, garlic... whatever flavour you like, stick in the oven at 350, tossing them here and there till they are a nice golden brown... then MANGEROOOOO!!!!!
