Rather have Snow

Yesterday, the first Freezing rain "storm" wasn't as severe as they had predicted, however some people in Carp, as I found out (Eddie's Cousin), were without power since 4:00 p.m. yesterday. Eddie's Cousin has a yearly get together on Boxing day at the Circa Farm. Last night... pot luck dinner was all prepared and warmed up on the Bar B Q's

Still a successful night with twinkling candlelight in every room. Gee, a candlelight pee - how quaint... tee hee.. ( I had to throw that in)

For us here, we could not attend the party, with the new litter on the ground, but we were definitely not without things to do! - A Dog party of sorts last night. In order for Portia (preggers) not to slide and fall...we carried her out to a safe zone to do her business. Remember... she is 6 1/2 wk pregnant... drinking alot of water... she has to go alot!

Then there is Rose.... who I'm sure is a bit sensitive just delivering 5 pups... so we don't want her doing the splits nor breaking a leg or anything... and Of course the others... well, they are all being taken out one dog at a time... so there is no monkey business and no accidents. Everything was really slippery. I had the boots with the chains underneath. Portia would follow me behind where I was tying to break the ice under my boots.

Early this morning at 4:00.... I rushed to take a picture of the "damage" - it's just wayyyyy to dark out there.... but you can see the shimmering ice on the van.

The snow is just starting to fall down, makin it less slippy for the dogs... yeah!!!!

I have my camera on "nightmode" and I'm just clicking away....I cannot see anything so, I was happy to get this picture... the rest of the pictures were just black squares.

I headed out to Gloucester this morning to pick up my niece. She is staying for a few days.

At noon I headed outside and took some pics of the frozen trees.  By this time the temperature is starting to rise.... so there is alot of  falling ice from their branches and trunks. The dogs are freaking out!

Doesn't the tree look like it is shedding snake skin... it's soooo cool.

I love this little Church - especially when the bells ring.

I'm hoping that the forecast as it stands today... will remain with snow in the next few days... Bring it on... I hate this freezing rain and the dogs hate being inside all day.

Hey Penny, we spent most of the afternoon and well into the evening in the DARK! No power to cook, or flush toilets, TG the doggie h20 buckets were filled in the morn .. fun evening by candlelight.

Freezing rain is beautiful, just not in our backyards :) Shades of the IceStorm this same time of yr, in what 1998??
