What's in a name?

A name.  Why a name? Well, it saves us a lot of grief and time - faster than saying You! No, not You!…. You, over there, in the white and brown fur coat! See - too long - ya need a name.

I love you big brother. (Charlotte and Hey you)
The “call names” we think of, for our puppies, sometimes takes longer to come up than with others. What we may have named them when they were 2 weeks old, may be entirely different at 8 wks – especially when they go to their new homes… that’s pretty much a gimme. The ones that stay around here – sometimes a step back and a good solid look at what is in front calls for a name change – real quick like.

Look Lily!  My teeth are coming in. (Bernie)

Did you know:  At one time we called our “Rémi” , Olyver. Olyver Twister ( a winery in the states). To be truthful, we called him Rolly Polly Olly…”Oliver” for short. It just made sense considering he was nice and fat, always rolled around on his back…But then the baby fat disappeared and he no longer looked like an Oliver. (Whatever an Oliver looks like). Hence he looked like a pretty little Rémi.

Today: So here we are… 4 – almost 4 week old pups… all starting to grow in their fur – personalities pertruding.

1st pup Tri-factored sable:  “Charlotte” we know will most likely stick ”forever” because that's what my daughter wants her baby to be named. Just have to think of a registered name to go along with that… I have a feeling the band Good Charlotte may play an influential decision.

What about the other three? So far I can only come up with names for 2 of the pups. Tsk tsk (I know **hanging head in shame)

2nd Pup The sable female (my hopeful), resembles her Dam. Hmmmm… and I’m looking for a “Rock n’Rose” theme…. “Lilly” will be her name (yeah, not a rose, but a flower no doubt right?) AND from the Stevie Nicks Album “Enchanted” (there is the Rock) there is a song called ROCK A LITTLE (GO AHEAD LILY) Sounds Logical to me – I love it! for now.

3rd Pup - Sable Male. Hmmmm. The light male looks similar to a St. Bernard. No, not because he has droopy jowls, (HE DOES NOT) just the distinct markings on him. At this particular time, he looks like he is going to be a big boy. He is also pretty laid back. You know… if I put strings on him he could be a puppet…. Like that guy on the movie Weekend at Bernie’s…. Okay bad comparison - remember I am not feeling well…so yeah, his name is “Bernie” – not cause of the movie… because of the St. Bernard markings.  Seriously.

My son loves to socialize with this guy…And vice versa. “Bernie” always wags his tail and comes running when Tyler approaches the box. Tyler will lie down on his back, put “Bernie” on his chest and the pup just kisses and kisses and kisses.

4th pup tri factored male…. ??????  Hey you! (Cutie Patutie)  ???  What would you call him?

The pictures of the pups were taken today.  They will be 4 wks old on Wednesday.

Charlotte and Lily

Settling in for a snooze.

I can't sleep

I'm bored.

Geez.... I want to play

Get up! Dang it!

God!  your breath stinks man! Get away!

And yes.... little Lily finally fell asleep.  Isn't she just delish.

Big brother - "hey you" likes to keep an eye and arm on his 2 baby sisters.

Awe he is so cute, with his little paw hanging over the side, he looks like a Nemo of (Finding "Nemo" a kids Movie, or he could be a "Keno" (lottery Tickets) could be a lucky family who gets to own him. Glad you are feeling better Penny, and the puppies are so darned cute, like little truffles, there is another name,"Rum Truffles"!
